Luna was originally set up by Carly Raby in 2000, in order to champion children's rights in the UK and provide emotional support to children and young people.
Since 2000 it has continued to grow and develop, and after accepting invitations from developing countries affected by trauma and violence to provide support and training, Luna has developed in to a global organisation providing training courses and support to community leaders in the area of children’s rights under the UNCRC, psychosocial awareness, community building and trauma counselling for children and families.
Although the majority of Luna’s work now is focussed in developing counties, NGO's and Government bodies in the UK often utilise the skills of Luna staff to advise and support the work of children's services in the UK.
Luna's success in raising the awareness of children's rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child over the last eight years, and the mental health and recovery training Luna have given to NGO's in areas affected by trauma has led them to not only receiving numerous awards, but also being recognised and trusted for their passion, drive and commitment for the work that they do.
