Trauma Treatment and Community Building Training in Rwanda

Following an unbelievably successful training course in 2008 (independent evaluation research upon request), Luna are preparing to continue this training annually, to ensure that the training is spread as widely as possible. The next training we are planning will be delivered by Lake Kivu near the border of the Democratic republic of Congo in 2009, but we need to raise enough money to make this possible. |
If you want to donate money, it will go straight towards raising money for survival money for participants, transport costs for participants, accommodation in Rwanda for course participants, printing of course materials/ certificates and food for everyone attending the five day course. Peace International School
| The Peace International School is a school for orphans of the genocide and refugee/ orphan children from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Many of them are street children, or are in foster care and some of the children have not only lost parents but have additionally been infected with AIDS or are HIV positive. Luna have provided these children with toys and school equipment this year, but despite having excellent and committed teaching staff working there, this school is one of the poorest in Rwanda and they are in desperate need of your support. |

Children’s Rights, Peace and Reconciliation Course
| We are developing a course to be delivered in three pilot schools in Rwanda, focussing on peace, reconciliation and children’s rights. We are working in partnership with REACH to create this training module and it will be delivered by local teachers from the community. We need to raise funds for the publication of materials, sourcing of materials, development of course and payment for teachers in Rwanda to teach this course. |
